My guess is that he hasn't TAPED his glasses to his face. I suppose that is supposed to be eye black like the baseball and sometimes football players wear.
Uhm . .. does the Gil Thorpe creative team ever watch sports? They should, since it's their strip's "thing" and all. And they would learn that eye black is not worn perpindicular to your eyes.

...Indecently, I don't really know much about this strip beyond this one panel, so.... is he actually playing football with his glasses on? Because isn't that, like.... a bad idea? No wonder he has them taped to his face. With electrical tape. On the bottom of his glasses instead of on the top. ...yeah, okay, I give up, that panel just sucks.

I think they all wear their eye black sort of like that (Scroll back to 9/20/05). Also, scroll to 9/14 to see Brick House utter the immortal lines:
"While I realize a certain jocularity is part of the bonding process . . . could someone kindly return my pants?"
HEE HEE. What a dork!!! Bully the small, younger folks. Good lesson.
I hope Brick House doesn't snap and go Columbine on the rest of the Gil Gang.
